We should unite behind a candidate | Letter to the editor

To the editor:

I was a Senator Bernie Sanders delegate to the 2016 Washington Democratic State Convention, missed being elected as a national convention delegate.

When he did not become our party’s nominee, I didn’t bitch, cry and go home, I worked hard to help elect our first woman president.

Election Day, 11-8-2016, was my birthday. It was a fantastic celebration until about 10:30 p.m.

It’s been said that when choosing candidates: “Democrats want to fall in love, Republicans fall in line.”

From stacking the federal judicial system into a permanent hard right swing for decades to come, to the unholy alliance of corporate oligarchy and rapture-awaiting evangelical theocracy, in real time we are witnessing a coup of the soul of the USA.

For the very future — if we have one — for our nation, in this November’s election, we must unite and do everything we can to ensure that this racist, gaslighting, misogynist, incompetent, immature, insecure, narcissistic, Putin asset-in-chief becomes a tragic footnote in the history of our republic.

Time to fall in line. Anything less is unpatriotic.
