To the editor:

Were you driving a dark blue VW sedan, maybe a Jetta, south on Ericksen Avenue Tuesday evening around 5:45? Do you live on the south end of the island? Did you have a lovely golden retriever in the back behind the driver’s seat who dropped his toy in the road? He looked so dismayed I tried to catch up to you, and then went back and got the toy.
