To the editor:

Thanks to the community and special thanks to Larry Nakata and his wonderful crew at T&C for helping Boy Scouts Troop 1565 with the very successful hamburger barbecue at the Fourth of July Parade.

A HUGE shout-out to Tony the grocer and Gary the butcher! Guys, you were awesome and we thank you so much for the excellent service and the highest quality foods! We couldn’t have had the success we had if it hadn’t been for your incredible guidance and assistance.

And a shout-out as well to the support we had from the Bainbridge community at large. We hope to see you all at this year’s Christmas Tree lot! Your purchases have helped provide our scouts with financial assistance in attending summer camps, as well as defraying some of the expenses of high adventure camps.

These youngsters are learning not only skills that will help them later in their adult life, they are also learning what it means to be living in a supportive community and how they can participate in that community to make it a better place for all.
