Room for two parties | Letters, Dec. 3

I am responding to your recent article dated Nov. 26, “Former employee files complaints against BITV.”

I have no knowledge with regard to the dismissal of Ms. Dombrowski.

However, I know the Dombrowski/Olsen family and as stated in your article, they do have conservative views.

The glaring issue I have with your article and the quote issued is the official statement of BITV. It references Ms. Dombrowski’s “controversial political positions and those of her family.” This quote implies to me that if one is a conservative on this island, one’s views are automatically deemed controversial. It does reflect the preponderance of liberal thought on this island.

Just because the Democratic Party is now in temporary control of the White House and Congress, certainly does not mean there is only one noncontroversial voice in our country. Our constitution was formed with a two-party system with the consideration of liberal and conservative views. In order for the vitriol to stop we must recognize both parties equally.
