Today is Aug. 20, 2014. A sad day for all those that believe in the concepts of the Comprehensive Plan. For today, the Visconsi island rampage began.

While many are to blame for the authorization of this project, I place the vast majority of that blame on the city council. They have totally failed in their duty to codify the comp plan, which would have dramatically mitigated the numerous adverse affects this project will have. On this project, like on many others, they ignored the unanimous recommendations from the Planning Commission as well as the near unanimous written and oral comments of the citizens they are supposed to serve.

I would like to think that those on the council would have some feelings of remorse about their decisions and lack of decisions. However, I also realize that those who are wired to act in the manner in which they have, typically don’t have the ability to be remorseful.
