Don’t forget to again vote yes for education | Letters | Oct. 23

I am writing to thank everyone who has already voted “yes” once for the Bainbridge Island School District’s bond measure. Please remember to vote again in November – we can’t lose a single vote.

For those of you who support the bond but didn’t vote the first time, please grab your ballot as soon as it arrives, mark the measure “approved,” put a stamp on the envelope and drop your ballot in the mail. (You may, of course, also want to vote on some other important issues.)

And for those of you who didn’t support the bond measure the first time, please reconsider your position and take advantage of this new opportunity to approve the recommendation of our community-elected school board and the many citizens involved in crafting the measure.

They – along with our teachers, administrators and other staff – have proven to be careful stewards of our community’s demand not only for an excellent educational system but also for the prudent use of taxpayer dollars. This bond continues that tradition. Please vote yes.
