Pat Wright, Seattle’s “First Lady of Gospel,” will bring her renowned Total Experience Choir to Bethany Lutheran Church at 7 p.m. Saturday, May 9.

The show is free, with donations accepted for St. Jude’s Center in the Lower Ninth Ward in New Orleans.

Wright’s internationally acclaimed choir has inspired audiences for 43-years in a traditional gospel style.

A “preacher’s kid” who began singing in her father’s Carthage, Texas, church at age 3, Wright’s music and tireless helping of people, including relief efforts after Hurricane Katrina and tsunami recovery in Ishinomaki, Japan, led ABC’s World News Tonight to name her one of three 2007 “Persons of the Year.”

Her legendary choir has performed in schools, correction centers, cathedrals, opera houses (including Sidney, Australia, where they won 1993 international choral competition), for two U.S. presidents and other world leaders throughout 38 states, 28 countries and five continents.

Bethany Lutheran Church is located at 7968 Finch Road.
