The Island Film Group will meet for a movie at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 8 at the Bainbridge Public Library. The group meets on the second Wednesday of the month for free films and discussion.

This month’s film is “Ballad of Cable Hogue.”

The 1970, R-rated film was directed by Sam Peckinpah and stars Jason Robards, Stella Stevens, David Warner, Strother Martin, Slim Pickens and L.Q. Jones.

Left for dead by a couple of lizard-slaughtering desperados in the middle of the desert, prospector Cable Hogue (Robards) is saved by his unexpected discovery of water “where there wasn’t any.”
