Sports briefs | Bainbridge softball wins sixth straight; soccer team remains undefeated

Baseball

Bainbridge dropped two contests 5-3 on Friday and Saturday.

The Spartans took on Eastside Catholic on the road Friday.

Eastside Catholic took the 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first and added another run in the bottom of the fifth,.

The Spartans’ three-run rally came up short in the top of the seventh.

Bainbridge (3-4) fell to South Kitsap 5-3 Saturday.

Softball

The Spartans defeated Eastside Catholic for the second time this season 14-1 on the road.

Senior Haylee Baker (2-0) threw five innings with two hits, one earned run and five strikeouts.

Baker also went one-for-one with two runs.

Lauren Reichert went two-for-three with a double and two RBIs.

The Spartans (6-1, 5-0 in Metro) will host Chief Sealth at 4 p.m. April 5 and take on West Seattle at 3:30 April 6 on the road.

Soccer

The Spartans stretched their win streak to four with a 3-0 win over Seattle Prep Thursday.

Alex Raquer scored two goals for Bainbridge and Connor Winship had one.

The Spartans play their second of five consecutive road matches at 3:30 p.m. April 6 at West Seattle.

Tennis

The Spartans will play four dual matches in five days next week. The team will host Nathan Hale, West Seattle and Ingraham at 3:30 p.m. On Monday, Wednesday and Friday, respectively.

The team will play its only away match of the week at North Kitsap at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.
