Bainbridge goes big at Lil’ Norway track invitational

POULSBO – The Bainbridge High track & field team had a sensational showing at the recent Lil’ Norway Invitational, held Saturday, April 21 at North Kitsap High School.
Among the men, the highlights include: Kyle Hammer finished fourth (53.16) and Evan Kimmerlein finished fifth (a new school record, 53.47) in the 400-meters; Carlo Ruggiero finished first (1:58;09, a new personal records) and Carter Hall finished second (1:59.22, a new personal record) in the 800-meters.
Jacob Tomer set a new personal record (10:48.60) and finished ninth in the 3200-meters; Elliott Windrope finished second and Reuben Allen finished seventh in the 300-meter hurdles; the relay team of Joe Tabisola, Leander von Specht, Ari Jabloner and Pierre Visconti took fourth in the 4×100.
Reuben Allen, Andrew Westphal, Patrick Ledoux and Connor Sanford took sixth in the SMR 100-100-200-400-meter event; Jacob Tomer, Connor Sanford, Sean Lindsey and Nathan McVay claimed fifth in the DMR 1200-400-800-1600-meters; Joe Tabisola finished second in the javelin event; and Andrew Frankie Owen finished ninth in the high jump.
Among the women: Elana Dorsey finished seventh (28.83, a personal record) in the 200-meters; Emma Brundige and McKenzie Korican both set new school records (1:01.42 and 1:03.43, respectively) as they finished third and fourth in the 400-meters.
Natalie Taylor finished third in the 300-meter hurdles; the relay team of Hannah Tonsman, McKenzie Korican, Josephine Meier, Elizabeth Messinger finished first in the DMR 1200-400-800-1600-meters; and Emma Brundige claimed the top spot in the long jump.
Participating schools included North Kitsap, Bremerton, Chimacum, Central Kitsap, Forks, Kingston, Port Angeles and Port Townsend.
