BAINBRIDGE – The Spartans weathered a late rally by Gig Harbor Tuesday to prevail 8-7 in girls fastpitch softball.

It was Bainbridge’s second win of the season.

Sara Colley knocked in Bainbridge’s first two runs on a double to give the Spartans a 2-0 advantage by the close of the first inning.

BHS tacked on three more runs in the bottom of third, and two more in the fourth, for a 6-0 lead.

The Tides and Spartans each added another run in the fifth, with the score 7-1 going into the sixth inning.

Gig Harbor scored three unanswered runs in the last two innings, but it wasn’t enough to stop the Spartans.

Malia Peato picked up her second win as pitcher (5 IP, 3 Hits, 1 ER, 3 Ks, 2 BB). Colley replaced her in the sixth inning.

Bainbridge’s Morgan Lassoff finished with 3—of-4 batting, a double, RBI and two runs.

Anna Koslovsky went 3-of-4 for Bainbridge, and had a run.

Abby Sullivan finished with an RBI and run for BHS.

Bainbridge improved to 2-0.
