This week’s adoptable pets are Emma and Jethro.

For adoption through PAWS:

Emma is a 5-year-old shorthaired tabby female who came to PAWS as an unclaimed stray.

She had been hanging around a neighborhood for a while and they worried about her being out in the cold rainy weather.

She is a friendly girl who’s a bit shy at first. A quiet home with no young children would be best.

You can meet Emma and several others at the PAWS Pleasant Beach adoption center, open 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

For adoption through Kitsap Humane Society:

Meet Jethro! He is a handsome, red scruffy Airedale terrier/Labrador retriever mix who has the cutest whiskers. This unique looking boy is sweet and friendly, but can be a little timid and nervous in new situations and with new people.

Jethro is still learning about leash walking, so can be spooked and unsure at times. He can be like a big puppy and loves to test out things to see if they are toys, check out counters, and look for ways to get out and explore, so he’ll need a loving family with a sense of humor that can show him the ropes. Jethro seems to like other dogs, and would likely enjoy having a doggie sibling or two to keep him company.

Jethro may not have lived inside much before so is looking for a patient, dedicated home that can teach him all the rules and skills of being an inside dog, like house training, crate training, furniture manners and being left alone. Jethro’s ideal family has a house (no apartments) with a fenced yard and no kids under 12.
