Islanders in need of a new or renewed passport will soon no longer have to leave Bainbridge to get their paperwork squared away.

Beginning Wednesday, July 5, Bainbridge Island Municipal Court will be able to process passport applications, city officials announced this week.

Passports will be available by appointment only from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday through Friday.

Appointments to receive passport services can be made online by visiting www.bainbridgewa.gov/Passports.

“We are very pleased to begin providing this service to the community,” said Judge Sara McCulloch. “The staff at the Municipal Court look forward to assisting you with your passport application.”

To ensure a successful appointment, islanders are advised to bring all required items with them to their appointment. An information sheet can be found at www.bainbridgewa.gov/DocumentCenter/View/8561.

Children must appear in person with both parents (unless proper consent form from one parent is completed per the instructions.)

Additionally, many local businesses offer passport photos, including the UPS Store, Rite Aid, Walgreens and Nick Felkey Photography.
