BAINBRIDGE – Bainbridge High’s track and field team pit themselves against athletes from Eastside Catholic and Cleveland High Thursday, April 27, in a dynamic day that saw numerous new personal — and even some new season — records set.

In the 100-meter dash, the best from Bainbridge was freshman Emma Brundige. She took first place with a final time of 13.18.

In third was sophomore Elana Dorsey (14.24, a personal record). Freshman Marlie Keasler claimed fourth (14.53).

For the boys, it was sophomore Sean Lindsey (sixth, 12.52), in the lead, followed by junior Joshua Jelcick (seventh, 12.53) and junior Konrad Breuninger (eighth, 12.59, a personal record).

The most stellar Spartan in the 200-meter race was senior Cole Brundige (second, 23.14). Breuninger was the second speediest Spartan for the boys’ side (ninth, 25.18, a personal record).

Junior McKenzie Korican (third, 28.22, a personal record) was best for the girls, followed by junior Capri Fain (fifth, 29.91, a personal record).

Emma Brundige again led the way in the 400 (second, 1:02.27, a personal record), with sophomore Elizabeth Messinger (third, 1:03.72, a personal record) nipping at her heels.

The best of the boys in the 400 was sophomore Evan Kimmerlein (third, 54.32). Fellow sophomore Leander Von Specht took fourth (55.71), and sophomore Sean Lindsey fifth (56.68, a personal record).

Kyle Hammer was the Spartan superstar in the 800-meter event. The junior finished first with 2:05.92. Next over the finish line for BHS was sophomore Sebastian Belkin (third, 2:1105).

For the girls, it was senior Naomi von Ruden who finished first (fourth, 2:28.09). Senior Jacqueline McVay was not far behind (sixth, 2:38.55, a season record).

In the ever-competitive 1600-meter, it was senior Jacob Carlson who did best for Bainbridge (first, 4:46.85). Senior Skyler Hallinan was next best (third, 5:13.09, a season record).

No BHS girls ran in the 1600.

Bainbridge runners claimed first-place finishes for both the boys and girls in the 3200-meters; sophomore Nathan Mcvay (10:28.17, a personal record) for the boys, and sophomore Hannah Tonsman (11:58.09) for the girls.

Sophomore Natalie Taylor and junior Jianna Kauffman took first and second, respectively, in the girls 100-meter hurdles (17.23, 18.58).

In the 300-meter hurdles, it was sophomore Elliott Windrope (second, 44.93) out front for BHS. Freshman Reuben Allen took third (49.22), sophomore Akio Hansen (52.42) fourth, and sophomore Patrick Ledoux (52.88) fifth.

On the girls’ side, it was Jianna Kauffman up front for BHS (third, 55.82). Freshman Sofia Trail (fourth, 56.25, a personal record) was not far behind.

The best from Bainbridge took second in both the boys’ and girls’ 4×100 relay events.

Marlie Keasler, Lillian Aduddell, Capri Fain and Sofia Trail finished in 56.71. Elliott Windrope, Konrad Breuninger, Ben Cibula and Joshua Jelcick finished in 48.07.

It was a Bainbridge show all the way in the boys’ 4×400 relay: Kyle Hammer, Leander von Specht, Connor Sanford and Akio Hansen claimed first (4:04.78), and Ben Soldow, Jacob Carlson, Joshua Lewis-Sandy and Sebastian Belkin second (4:04.96).

For the girls, Jacqueline McVay, Capri Fain, Josephine Meier and Marie Miller managed second place (4:48.61).

Junior Grace Cisneros secured second place (30-09.50) in the shot put. Freshman Elliot Weaver (34-02.50, a personal record) took fourth for the boys.

The best Spartans in discus were sophomore Samantha Anderson (second, 8905) and sophomore Joe Tabisola (third, 125-00.50).

In the long jump, Emma Brundige and senior Maria Flynn led the way for BHS (first, 15-11.50 and second, 14-05.75, a personal record, respectively).

Top Spartans in the pole vault included junior Bo Baird (first, 11-00.00), junior Will Hobbs (second, 8-06.00) and senior Conrad Weiss (third, 8-00.00).

In the long jump, it was freshman Ezra Tweiten (sixth, 13-11.00) who shone brightest for BHS.

The triple jump was another Spartan dominated event. Junior Ellen York (first, 31-11.00) and senior Maria Flynn (second, 30-11.25) were tops in the girls event, and senior Skyler Hallinan (first, 34-06.00, a personal record) and sophomore Akio Hansen (second, 30-08.25) were the best of the boys.
