Sixth win in a row for BHS baseball

SEATTLE – Liam Hatakenaka threw a complete game shutout as Bainbridge swept a full week’s slate of five games with the defeat of Chief Sealth 12-0 in Seattle Friday, April 21.

The Metro League-leading Spartans were themselves led offensively by Jack Niehaus and Mitch Kurtz. Each had two hits and contributed three and four runs batted in, respectively.

The Spartans scored at least two runs in every inning as the game was shortened to five innings due to the run differential.

Hatakenaka allowed only one hit while striking out seven Seahawks.

The Spartans headed into the final week of league play atop the standings with a record of 11-1.

Next up for Bainbridge was West Seattle Monday, April 24 before they return home for their final two home games of the season.

Rainier Beach visited Sands Field on Wednesday, followed by Senior Day, versus Seattle Prep at 3:30 p.m. Friday, April 28.
