Seattle Prep got the meager offense it needed — a two-run first inning — to beat Bainbridge in girls fastpitch softball last week.
The Panthers edged the Spartans 3-1 in the Metro League matchup on Bainbridge.
Seattle Prep held BHS scoreless until the bottom of the fourth, when Katie Raben pounded a home run to put Bainbridge on the board and cut Prep’s lead to 2-1.
That was all the offense the Spartans could muster, however, and the Panthers tacked on an insurance run in the sixth to seal the scoring at 3-1.
Raben pitched seven innings for the Spartans and gave up five hits to go with her five strikeouts. She also went 3-for-3 at the plate and provided the Spartans’ single score.
