A day of thanksgiving

Boy Scout Wesley Saunders (above, left) makes sure diners have all the fixings Thursday, at the Bainbridge Island Sportsmen’s Club Thanksgiving dinner for local seniors. It was 15-year-old Saunders’ second time volunteering for the dinner, an annual event sponsored by the club at its lodge on Sportsman Club Road.

About 35 volunteers from around the community helped out at the dinner. Several islanders donated pies made from the season’s bounty. They were a sweet finish to the holiday gathering.
