It’s a go: Tollefson files for Bainbridge council seat

Val Tollefson filed as a candidate in the race for the District 7 position on the Bainbridge Island City Council on Monday.

It was not an unexpected entry into the race. Tollefson earlier announced he would seek the post in the 2013 General Election.

District 7, a North Ward seat, is currently held by Councilman Bob Scales.

Scales said earlier he would not seek re-election this November.

Tollefson is the first candidate to file with the Kitsap County Auditor’s Office for a Bainbridge council seat. Candidate Filing Week started May 13.

The District 7 position carries a four-year term.
