The Bainbridge High varsity baseball team moved one game closer to the State tournament later this month after defeating the Ferndale Golden Eagles 4-3 in an 11-inning marathon bout late Saturday at Skagit Valley Dream Field.

The Spartans will play the victor of the day’s second game later Saturday night to secure the right to move forward in the state bracket.
