It’s Homecoming Week at Bainbridge High, so the big game this week is Friday’s matchup against the Everett Seagulls at Bainbridge Memorial Stadium.
The Spartans (0-2) are coming off a heartbreaking 28-20 loss to Cleveland in Seattle’s first-ever Memorial Football Classic.
The Seagulls (0-2) were dusted 38-16 by crosstown rival Cascade in the Battle for Broadway Friday.
Kickoff is at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 19 at Bainbridge Memorial Stadium.
Spartan sports start this week with boys water polo, girls volleyball and golf on Monday, Sept. 15.
The golf team travels to Jackson Park Golf Club to battle Bishop Blanchet. Tee time is 3 p.m.
The Spartans welcome Kingston for varsity and junior varsity matches at Paski Gymnasium. JV action gets underway at 5 p.m.; the varsity game has a 6:30 p.m. start.
The boys water polo team welcomes Woodrow Wilson to the Bainbridge Aquatics Center. Game time has not yet been set, but warmups are scheduled for 4:45 p.m.
On Tuesday, Sept. 16, the Spartan girls swim/dive team takes over Ray Pool for a meet against Kamiak. The meet starts at 3:30 p.m.
The Spartans girls soccer team also plays at home Tuesday, against Roosevelt. Bainbridge’s JV team plays the Rough Riders at 4:20 p.m. in Bainbridge Memorial Stadium, and the varsity game follows at 6:15 p.m.
On Wednesday, Sept. 17, the boys water polo team will face Stadium High on the road. Warmups are at 6:15 p.m.
On Thursday, Sept. 18, the Spartan golf team returns home to Wing Point Golf Course to play Holy Names/O’Dea. Varsity play starts at 3 p.m.
Also Thursday, the Spartans play Bishop Blanchet in girls soccer, with the JV game at 3:30 p.m. on Field 2 at Lower Woodland Park and the varsity game at 4 p.m. at Bishop Blanchet High.
The BHS cross country team also heads to Seattle’s Lower Woodland Park on Thursday for a meet against Chief Sealth, Cleveland, Roosevelt, West Seattle and Seattle Prep. The varsity race starts at 3:40 p.m.
The Spartans are also scheduled to play a home meet, against an opponent to be determined, at 6:30 p.m. Thursday in Paski Gymnasium.
Friday finds the water polo team in Auburn for the first day of a two-day tournament.
The Spartans host Roosevelt for a girls swim meet at 3:30 p.m. Friday at the Bainbridge Aquatics Center.
The sports week also wraps up Saturday for the volleyball team and the “C” football team.
The Spartans will play at a varsity volleyball invitational at Kentridge High School, while the young BHS gridders play West Seattle at the Hiawatha Community Center in West Seattle.
