Spartans win first match in tourney

BAINBRIDGE – The Bainbridge High boys varsity golf team absolutely demolished the visiting team from Garfield High at Wing Point Thursday, Oct. 2.

The final score of the match was 139-73.

The victory further advanced the team’s undefeated season record to 8-0.

The team’s usual top points-earner, Sam Warkentin, did not disappoint. He finished the match with 26 points, more than any other player on either team, and scored 37 on the par-36 course.

Fellow BHS golfer Brooks Wallace managed 24 points.

Both Carter Kraus and Colin Campbell finished the match with 23 points.

Nate Boegl chipped in 22 points and team captain Hudson Hausmann scored 21.

The match would be the Spartans’ last home match of the regular season, with their next three scheduled to be on the road.
