Basketball

The Spartan boys (2-1 in the Metro, 5-1 overall) shot nearly 50 percent from the field Tuesday, defeating Ingraham (1-2 in the Metro, 2-3 overall) 72-51.

Senior Will DiIorio posted a double-double on the night, scoring 20 points on eight-for-17 shooting with 11 rebounds.

Ryan Burris added 15 points on five-for-12 shooting, and Chris Bell shot four-for-six from the field with 12 points.

The Spartans match up with ninth-ranked O’Dea at 7:30 p.m. Friday.

In the teams last meeting nearly a year ago, the Spartans came out with the victory, 58-49.
