Five Spartans seek shot at state

BAINBRIDGE –  In their first showing of the postseason, the Bainbridge High varsity boys basketball team claimed a 68-54 win over the visiting squad from Nathan Hale.

Though the Raiders led in the first quarter (14-12), the Spartans came back big in the second (24-7) to lead 36-21 by the end of the half.

Bainbridge led again in the third, but barely, edging out the Raiders 14-13.

In the game’s final quarter, the visitors mounted a bit of a comeback (20-18) but were unable to stymie the Spartans.

Marcus Clyde led the Spartans on the board with 18 points.

Brendan Burke put up 16, Blake Bieber managed 14 and Sawyer Conrad finished the night with seven points.
