BHS speedsters stand out at XC invite

TACOMA – Both Bainbridge High’s JV and varsity cross country runners gave stellar performances at the recent second annual Knight Invite at Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma.

Bainbridge High School took first place in the 5,000-meter freshman/sophomore event in both the boys and girls divisions, beating out runners from Steilacoom, Graham-Kapowsin, Bethel, Emerald Ridge and more.

The Spartan boys who broke the top 10 were Carlo Ruggerio (17:19), Carter Hall (17:36), Sebastian Belkin (17:47), Elliott Windrope (18:21) and Nathan McVay (18:27).

The fastest women runners were Natalie Taylor (20:57), Kalea Chu (21:09) and Adalynn Griesser (21:37).

BHS also took second place in the junior/senior boys event with 46 points, being beaten by only Emerald Ridge (19).

The fastest Spartan varsity runners were Ryan Cox (16:25), Johan Griesser (17:36) and Cole Brundige (17:45).
