Golden Eagles strike at tourney

Mike McLane and George Flasher won the gold medal in doubles bowling for the Bainbridge Island Golden Eagles Special Olympics bowling team at the recent regional tournament in Silverdale.
Mike McLane and George Flasher won the gold medal in doubles bowling for the Bainbridge Island Golden Eagles Special Olympics bowling team at the recent regional tournament in Silverdale.

SILVERDALE – The Bainbridge Island Golden Eagles Special Olympics bowling team brought home numerous awards and ribbons, including a gold medal, from a recent regional tournament held at All Star Lanes in Silverdale.

Mike McLane and George Flasher won the gold medal in doubles bowling.

Also competing in the doubles event were Kristina Emery and Maria Knighton, Jennifer Correa and Rebecca Nickel, Stephen Hetzenbihler and Tijay Torres, Tanner Conrad and Steve Stovner as well as David Bartoldus and Michael Wallace.

Competing in the unified doubles event was the father/son team of Chis Marten and Norman (Tad) Marten.

Competing in singles were Sean Garrity, Ryan Kerr, Jennifer Mullis, Alison Nakata, Chelsea Rapp, Aliya Rubensstein, Shannon Sears, Larry Sola, Mathew Strachan and Barb Sundquist.
