Free family art day on the BIMA plaza

The craftiest organizations in Kitsap County will converge at the Bainbridge Island Museum of Art plaza from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. this Saturday, July 9 for a family art extravaganza.

The craftiest organizations in Kitsap County will converge at the Bainbridge Island Museum of Art plaza from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. this Saturday, July 9 for a family art extravaganza.

From paper-plate puppets to paracord bracelets, there are countless ways to unlock your creativity.

Hands-on projects will be provided by Bainbridge Arts & Crafts, BIMA, Bainbridge Island Studio Tour, Bainbridge Artisan Resource Network, Bloedel Reserve, Boys and Girls Club of Bainbridge Island, Coates Design Architects, IslandWood, Kids Discovery Museum, Kitsap Regional Library, Suquamish Museum and Valentinetti Puppet Museum.

Recess Monkey, a trio of three “kindie” rockers, will kick it at 11 a.m., with performances from Kids in Concert and Suquamish Song & Dance before and after.

As an added bonus, admission to event co-host KiDiMu is free all-day, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Family Art Day is sponsored by Kids Discovery Museum and the Bainbridge Island Museum of Art.
