Softball | Baker throws no-hitter in Bainbridge’s 13-1 win over Holy Names

Bainbridge made quick work of fourth-ranked Holy Names, cruising to a 13-1 victory Tuesday.

The Spartans, the defending state champions and second-ranked team in the 3A polls, cracked the game open in the bottom of the third. Sophomore Haley Willmann led off with an infield single, and Cali Moore hit an RBI double for run Spartans’ first run.

The Spartans would knock in six more runs in the bottom of third, including a two-run homer from Caitlin McCormick.

Bainbridge added six more runs in the bottom of the fourth.

Holy Names brought in its only run on a passed ball in the top of the fifth.

Bainbridge will play Holy Names at Lower Woodland at 4 p.m. tomorrow before celebrating Senior Day Friday as they face Holy Names.

Schedule update

The Spartans’ game on Monday versus Nathan Hale was postponed due to rain. The game will be made up at 4:45 p.m. Thursday at Nathan Hale.

Bainbridge has added two games to its schedule. The team will host Adna High School, a 2B team, at 4 p.m. May 10 and travel to Central Kitsap at 4 p.m. May 17.
