Spartans win 8 events to earn district team title in swimming

NK finishes 2nd, other Kitsap individuals advance to state

The Bainbridge Spartans took home the team title at the 2A West Central District girls swim and dive championships Nov. 8 at the Curtis High School Aquatic Center in Tacoma.

The Spartans took first place in eight different events and had other swimmers earn high finishes to advance to state Nov. 14-15 at the King County Aquatic Center. North Kitsap placed second as a team, meaning they advance to state as well. Kingston, Olympic, and Bremerton also had swimmers competing at districts, with some advancing to state in various events.

“I’m so proud of the energy and effort everyone brought on both days to earn this win and set us up for a strong showing at the state meet this coming weekend,” Bainbridge swim and dive coach Krista Pal said.
