Bainbridge Island seafood restaurant Seabird, located on Winslow Way, will be closing following its final day of service Sept. 28, chef/owner Brendan McGill announced on his Facebook page.
McGill intends to open a new restaurant in its place, although the details and timeline are unknown at this time. Seabird opened in 2022 following the COVID-19 pandemic. McGill also owns and operates Cafe Hitchcock and Bruciato on BI, as well as a few other restaurants in Seattle.
“The time has come to reimagine how to make an intimate, 40-seat restaurant work in 2026 and beyond,” McGill wrote in his Facebook post. “At this moment in time, on Bainbridge Island, it’s going to look a little different. We’ve got some ideas that we’re excited to bring to life; we’ll share as we get a bit closer.”
