Sheriff: Bicyclist, 70, killed after being struck by car in SK

A 70-year-old man was killed July 4 when he was struck by a vehicle while riding a bicycle in South Kitsap.

The incident happened around 10:50 a.m. on SW Lake Flora near Hidden Acres Place SW, a Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office Facebook post states. The victim, an SK resident, died at the scene.

A 17-year-old girl driving the vehicle that struck the bicyclist stated she saw the man riding on a dirt portion of the roadway and was focused on the upcoming intersection when she felt an impact. She showed no signs of being impaired when she spoke with deputies, per KCSO.
