Vote for Blossom
To the editor:
If you have ever had the good fortune to meet Sarah Blossom, then you probably were treated with the traits that make her an excellent council candidate. She is calm, thoughtful, and reasonable. I met Sarah many years ago when my elementary-aged daughter’s pony abruptly lost her home and arena. When I approached (then unknown) Sarah and her mother about joining their farm, they were quite clear that they were a “family barn” and didn’t take boarders. I understood completely and sought new options. A couple of days later, I received a call from Sarah saying that she had been thinking about our situation, and she agreed to let us ride the pony in their arena. That’s Sarah – one who empathizes, finds a solution, and helps her community.
That was many years ago, and since then, I have followed Sarah’s extensive civic career. Over the years, she has navigated numerous ideological storms. She continues to demonstrate her balanced approach and tireless work on behalf of our island. As an island native, Sarah embodies and fights for the culture that we all want to protect. She recognizes that change on the island is inevitable, but believes that the council must reflect the will of the people within the confines of the limited resources and infrastructure that we have.
Sarah is a human library of codes, policies, procedures, and compassion. She keeps an open dialogue with generations of politically involved islanders and leaders of special interest groups. She seeks dialogue and solutions rather than placing blame. If you have ideas or concerns, I strongly encourage you to contact her directly via her website, Blossom4BIcouncil.com.
This is a pivotal time in the island’s history. The race has taken on vitriolic tones that are discouraging and not at all neighborly. Do yourself and your community a favor – do some research. Compare the candidates’ positions on their websites, and explore their experience and endorsements. It’s important.
