2nd-degree rape

Bail is set at $500,000 for a 45-year-old Edmonds man charged in Kitsap County Superior Court with second-degree rape Oct. 25.

He was arrested on a warrant from Oct. 9. He faces life in prison and a $50,000 fine.

Bremerton police say a woman reported Sept. 9, 2022, that after a night out she was raped in Bremerton by the man at around 5 a.m. at a friend’s residence where she was staying. After sleeping on separate couches she got up to leave. She was putting on a medical boot and unfolding her medical scooter when he started kissing her and threw her down on a couch. The sexual assault stopped when she threatened to tell a mutual friend after saying “no” numerous times.

She went to a hospital for a SANE before calling 911. An officer contacted the suspect and asked that he turn himself in. He did not but was later arrested after his DNA was matched to samples from the victim.
