Bainbridge Community Foundation’s Capacity Building Grants provide resources for local nonprofits to grow their expertise in a certain area.
Most nonprofits apply to help pay for training or expert advice—some focused on workshops while others look to hire a strategic planning consultant.
In 2022, BCF received 23 applications, of which 19 were approved. Eight came from new applicants, seven of which were approved. This was the largest number of new applicants ever. In total, BCF funded a record $27,450, up from $23,250 in 2021. BCF has granted $135,180 to 47 nonprofits through this program.
New recipients were: $1,500: Amabile, Amara, Kidzz Helping Kiddz, Kitsap Cancer Services, Kitsap Regional Library Foundation and Peacock Family Services. Getting $1,450 was BI Youth Orchestra.
Others receiving $1,500 were: BARN, BI Community Center, BYS, Battle Point Astronomical Society, Friends of the Farms, HRB, Kids Discovery Museum, North Kitsap Fishline, PAWS and Scarlet Road. IVC and BI Arts & Humanities each received $1,000.
