TED event seeks youth speakers

An independently organized TED (technology, entertainment, design) event, the upcoming 2020 TEDxYouth@Bainbridge Island Conference is seeking young speakers and currently accepting applications.

The deadline is Nov. 4.

The event, organized by Merrill Keating and Doña Keating, is slated to take place from noon to 4 p.m. Feb. 1, 2020 at the Bainbridge Island Museum of Art.

Applicants should be between the ages of 13-21 and have an idea worth spreading regarding their leadership in the community.

“It’s critically important that we step up to shape our future,” event organizers said. “We are facing a time in history where we must speak up and prepare to lead on education, business, the arts, social justice, and more.”
