Island boys bested 2-1 by O’Dea’s Irish

SEATTLE – The Fighting Irish of O’Dea snuck through the Spartans’ defenses Wednesday, March 28, scoring a 2-1 win at Interbay Stadium against the Bainbridge High varsity boys soccer team.

Losing dropped the BHS team’s overall season record to 3-5 (2-5 in league play). They hold the 10th-place spot in the Metro standings.

The team to beat is Garfield (6-0 in conference), with Roosevelt (5-0) nipping their heels.

Following the O’Dea loss, the Spartans began Spring break, and will not play again until Wednesday, April 11, on the road against Bishop Blanchet. They next play at home at 6 p.m. Friday, April 13 against Eastside Catholic (4-3-1).
