New Fall Arrivals in Wearable Art comes to The Island Gallery

The Island Gallery continues the exhibition “Expanding Vistas” through September.
The gallery presents new work from Bainbridge Island artist Jen Till. In this collection, Till wields a loose brush, incorporating greater liquid and flow into her paints, to pleasing effect.
New to the gallery this month is “New Fall Arrivals in Wearable Art.”
The show features raincoats and outer wear from Winding River, woven and felted pieces from two new textile artists, unisex T-shirts of cotton and inset vintage kimono from Chiho Couture, bags from Tumar Art of Kyrgystan, and jewelry ready to enhance autumn outfits from artists Christine L. Sundt and Carolina Andersson.
An artists’ reception is 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 1 during the First Friday Artwalk. The Jenny Davis Trio will provide music in concert on the plaza.
