The Bainbridge Island Police Department again hosted the annual National Night Out event outside city hall in downtown Winslow on Tuesday to a sizeable crowd and much fanfare.
Featuring free food and games, National Night Out takes place each year on the first Tuesday in August to strengthen local anti-crime efforts and build bonds between the police and the community.
Bainbridge Island’s celebratory party was a big hit, including a tricky doughnut eating contest, the chance for youngsters to climb aboard a fire truck or police boat, and to sit in a cop car, as well as don a judge’s robes and bang a gavel.
The Review’s Luciano Marano was there to capture all the fun — and dancing doughnuts.
