Sock hop returns to Island Center Hall

Island Center Hall hosts its annual sock hop and ice cream social from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday, July 8.

The dance will feature a DJ mix of oldies and goldies: swing, foxtrot, waltz, blues, West Coast, night club two-step and Latin. Dancers are welcome to dress in 1950s-era style. There will be prizes for the best costume and the dance contest.

A swing workshop mixer starts at 7:15 p.m., and is free with paid admission to the dance. The dance is for singles and couples; adults and teens. Please wear shoes kind to the wood floor. Bring your favorite ice cream and/or toppings to share. Admission is $10 at the door.
