The Bainbridge Island Police Department kicked off the annual Law Enforcement Torch Run Campaign promptly at 7 a.m. June 1 at the downtown Winslow station.
Officers, some with family members in tow, took turns carrying the torch across the island to be handed off to the Suquamish Police Department at the Chiquiti fireworks stand near Clearwater Casino.
