‘Backyard Chickens’ come home to roost at The BPA Gallery
Published 1:30 am Friday, February 3, 2017
The BPA Gallery presents “Backyard Chickens,” unique chicken portraits by Matt Pedersen, at the gallery in February.
The exhibition opens on the First Friday Art Walk, from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 3.
Help bring the chickens “home to roost” for their second showing at the BPA Gallery.
Unique chicken portraits on cedar and humorous chicken block prints by Pedersen, a local artist, highlight his passion for the urban farm movement.
The chicken portraits express the stoic qualities of the subject through detailed wood burned images, while Pedersen’s colorful small-scale prints bring to life the peculiar personalities of chickens and their owners.
The BPA Gallery showcases regional artists in monthly rotating exhibits in the C. Keith Birkenfeld Lobby. Gallery hours are noon to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday plus one hour prior to each performance. Admission is free.
