In need of laughs? The Edge Improv will fill your monthly prescription. Their first Saturday show begins at 7:30 p.m. Ticket prices vary.
Betty Bard MacDonald stirs a bit of controversy. On the one hand, she wrote “The Egg and I,” a national bestseller detailing her adventures as a backwoods farmer’s wife in the Chimacum Valley. On the other hand, she spawned a perception of Washington as a land of country bumpkins and fueled stereotypes about Native Americans along the way. Paula Becker tells the whole story in her new biography, “Looking for Betty MacDonald: The Egg, the Plague, Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle, and I.” The author comes to Eagle Harbor Books at 3 p.m. Sunday.
Real estate is a cutthroat biz. And apparently, procuring tickets to Friday and Saturday’s Glengarry Glen Ross show is, too. Luckily, you have nine more opportunities to catch the Swinging Hammer production at the Grange, including Sunday at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $30 and, occasionally $22, if you’re trying to save the money.
You might not know that much about jazz, but have you ever watched “The Wire”? If so, you might recognize Bill Anschell’s composition work. His trio performs at Waterfront Park Community Center at 4 p.m. for the First Sundays Concert series. Tickets are $20 and $10.
