To the editor:

The city has authorized a consultant, Hittle, to perform an electric feasibility study. So now we move on to the work.

In its most recent study, a 2012 report for Thurston County PUD, Hittle said: “To be conservative in our economic assumptions, we have further assumed that the PSE assets would be acquired at their RCNLD value.”

RCNLD means replacement cost new less depreciation. In its proposal to the city, Hittle said that this figure represents the “high end” of estimated purchase prices.

Let’s see if Hittle estimates a “high end” price for PSE’s island assets -— just as the consultant did in Thurston County.
