BOZEMAN, Montana – More than 300 gymnasts from Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon and Washington flipped, swung, spun, sprung and stunned at the Region 2 Men’s USA Gymnastics Championship.

Four athletes from Bainbridge Island — Collin Hansen, Kiernan Liberman, Owen Scheer and Jacob Hall — gave rock-solid performances in the highly competitive field at regionals, which were held in Bozeman, Montana on April 2-3. Each placed in the top 10 in level and age groups for the entire Northwest region.

Hansen and Liberman, both Level 8 gymnasts, executed impressive routines.

Hansen clinched gold on rings, placed fourth on pommel horse and finished in sixth place overall.

Liberman won the bronze on pommel horse and parallel bars and finished the meet with a bronze in the all around.

Scheer dazzled with his routine on the pommel horse and won the gold. He flipped to a fifth place on floor and landed squarely in seventh place overall.

Hall muscled to fourth on pommel and sixth on vault and wrapped it up with a 10th-place finish in the all around.

The regional meet concluded a very tough competitive season in which the Bainbridge boys not only held their own against stiff competition but excelled.
