BAINBRIDGE – The Eagles bested the Spartans — and a few from their own nest — as Lakeside (Nine Mile Falls) beat Bainbridge 4-2 earlier this week in girls varsity fastpitch softball.

With the game falling during spring break, the Spartans could only field eight players for the contest. The visitors from Eastern Washington, however, loaned the Spartans a few players so the game could be played.

Lakeside took a 1-0 lead after the first inning, and added three more runs in the fourth. (Three of Lakeside’s runs came courtesy of three Bainbridge errors and two walks).

And on the Spartans’ side, both of Bainbridge’s runs were driven in by Eagles playing for BHS.
