Fundraising dinner planned at BIMA

Coming this weekend, the Cochon555 tour arrives in Seattle, preaching the gospel of heritage-bred pigs through a medley of culinary experiences, including a welcome reception and dinner at the Bainbridge Island Museum of Art on Saturday, April 9.

The Chef’s Course Dinner is a three-hour affair featuring an all-star crew: Bainbridge’s own Brendan McGill (Hitchcock) and Melinda Lucas (BIMA Bistro), Brady Lowe (Cochon555) and Ryan Healy (Do It Yourself Chefs Inc.)

Using hyper-local ingredients and, of course, pork, the chefs will prepare a five-course dinner paired with wines from Leah Jorgensen Cellars, Alysian Winery, W.T. Vintners and Azzurro Wine Company.

Tickets benefit BIMA and Piggy Bank, a nonprofit that aims to create a heritage breed pig sanctuary that provides free genetics and business plans to emerging family farms. They are $130 and can be purchased at www.piggy-bank.org/events/seattle-saturday-49-1.

The all-inclusive dinner begins at 6:30 p.m. with passed hors d’oeuvre alongside a special tasting of Martinez Lacuesta Vermouths.
