Pool opens for free swim this weekend

Puget Sound Energy is sponsoring a free open swim at the Bainbridge Island Aquatic Center from 1 to 4 p.m,. Saturday, Nov. 14 and Sunday, Nov. 15.

The public is invited to stop by for the open swim, and free games and hot dogs will be provided by the park district on Saturday, Nov. 14.

During the recent closure of the Don Nakata Pool, Puget Sound Energy helped fund energy efficient LED lighting upgrades through its award of an energy efficiency grant to the Bainbridge Island Metropolitan Park & Recreation District.

Officials note that the lighting upgrades alone will save enough electricity to power more than five houses for a year.
