Your bike is your ticket to a hearty serving of pie at Squeaky Wheels’ annual Bike for Pie fundraiser on Sunday, Aug. 9.

The challenge route takes riders through 32 (hilly) miles of island beauty, with a savory stop at Johnson Farm for extra fuel. Those seeking a smoother ride can opt for the 8-mile family route, which weaves around Murden Cove with little elevation gain.

After cruising, participants are invited to party with bluesy, rootsy rock’n’rollers Mud Junket at Waterfront Park and chow down on fruit pies made by volunteers at the Pane D’Amore bakery.

The after-party takes place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.; riders should time their check-in based on how long they expect to ride so they don’t miss the festivities.

Register online at bikeforpie.org or in-person from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Aug. 9 at the Waterfront Park starting line. The family route costs $18 for adults and $5 for children 14 and under, and includes pie at the end. The challenge route costs $28 for adults and $10 for children 14 and under, and includes a savory pie stop at the halfway point as well as a sweet pie slice at the end.
