Renowned pickleball players Jennifer Lucor and Alex Hamner will be on Bainbridge Island to host a skills clinic from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 22 in the lower Bainbridge High School gymnasium.

Pickleball is a racquet sport played by two, three or four players, which combines the major elements of badminton, tennis and Ping Pong.

Hamner and Lucor have claimed several pickleball titles together, including a four-peat gold medal at the 2014 National Tournament in the Womens Doubles category.

Lucore is a 14-time U.S. National Champion, nine-time Canadian National Champion and a pickleball blogger.

Hamner, who only plays professionally for half of each year, also won the silver in the Open Mixed Doubles with Matthew Blom and the gold in the Senior Open Womens Singles division last year.

She won the singles event in 2013 as well.

At the 2014 Tournament of Champions in Ogden, Utah, Hamner and Lucor won doubles.

The duo have won the Womens Doubles at the Grand Canyon Games in 2012, 2013 and 2014, and they won at the SoCal Classic in North San Diego County as well.

The clinic at BHS is being presented by the Bainbridge Island Metropolitan Park & Recreation District and is free and open to the public.
