City of Bainbridge Island hosts workshops on comp plan

Bainbridge Island will host two community workshops in July on the update of the comprehensive plan, the policy document that will guide growth and development on the island during the next two decades.

The first workshop on Wednesday, July 22 will focus on the environmental element of the comprehensive plan. The workshop on Wednesday, July 29 will focus on the economic element.

Both workshops will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the council chambers at city hall.

City officials ask that residents prepare for the workshops by reviewing the existing economic and environmental chapters of the plan, which can be found on the city website, www.ci.bainbridge-isl.wa.us.

After the workshops, planning commissioners will deliberate on the ideas presented and

provide direction to city staff and the consultant team, who will then work with a planning commission subcommittee to draft amendatory language.
