The Bainbridge Island Rotary’s 2015 Auction and Rummage Sale was another big hit on the island, with sales and auction revenues resulting in more than $480,100 collected.

The club will be putting all of the money back into the community, as the group’s operating costs are funded through membership dues and are maintained in a separate account, officials said.

Rotary members thanked the community for continuing to support the highly anticipated annual event in their announcement of this year’s successful finish: “Thank you Bainbridge and the Puget Sound community for your fantastic support – to the 2015 auction attendees who opened their billfolds to make purchases, to those who generously donated the items we sold and to the auction volunteers who, year after year, spend countless hours helping us take in, organize and sell those donations.”

Organizations that have benefited from Rotary monetary donations resulting from funds gathered in the auction include community grants, community projects, scholarships and international humanitarian projects. Raffle winners also made off with some dough this year, including Gerlind Jenker (first prize, $2,000 cash), John Morrow (second prize, $1,000 cash), Michael Maria (third prize, $500 shopping spree at Town & Country) and Nick Duchamp (fourth prize, $100 cash).
